Senior Move Manager, Owner
Jane House is the owner of About Seniors Complete Moving Services in Albuquerque, senior move managers specializing in “right-sizing” and managing the entire move process for seniors. Prior to becoming the owner of About Seniors, she was Program Director for Meals on Wheels of Albuquerque, where she oversaw more than 300 volunteers to coordinate he delivery of 550 meals each day and was instrumental in outreach to increase the number of meals served.
Jane has more than 25 years of experience in business and 15 years in the not-for-profit arena, where her strong leadership, vision and management skills have helped numerous non-profits throughout New Mexico achieve significant growth. Throughout her career, Jane has combined her passion for not-for-profit causes with her unique combination of business, marketing and fundraising skills – specializing in helping non-profits develop into successful, self-sufficient businesses. Over the past decade, Jane has served as a consultant to many local organizations, including serving as Executive Director for the New Mexico Direct Caregivers Association and Development Director at Albuquerque Little Theatre, as well as serving as Special Events Coordinator for the State of New Mexico.
As an established leader in the not-for-profit area, Jane provides strategic insight — and proven results — to both established not-for-profits as well as start-up organizations. She is an experienced grant writer, has developed numerous volunteer programs, recruited and developed Boards of Directors at many leading not-for-profits, and has planned and implemented countless successful marketing and fundraising plans. Throughout her career, she has raised more than $1 million in funding for various not-for-profits through her programs, events and business planning.
Jane has extensive experience in the areas of the arts, human services and services provided to at-risk youth. She was the Chief Executive Officer of Life Options Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a not-for-profit organization which was created to help teenage mothers transform their lives and break the cycle of poverty and abuse that teen parenting perpetuates. In her role as CEO/Executive Director, she was instrumental developing and executing a business plan, and raised more than $500,000 over two years. In addition to her groundbreaking work at Life Options Academy, Jane’s expertise in business growth for non-profits has been a major asset for a wide variety of other not-for-profits throughout her career. As Executive Director of Keshet Dance Company, she took this start-up non-profit from a $40 K budget to $350K in three years. Her sharp business skills and fundraising abilities also allowed her to raise $120,000 as Development Director at Outcomes, Inc., as well as develop a marketing, fundraising and special event plan that raised $130,000 in her role as Development Director at A New Day Youth and Family Services of Albuquerque.
Jane has been active on many Boards throughout New Mexico, including a Founding Board Director for the Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence, Board of Directors of Life Options Academy, the New Mexico Planned Giving Council and Keshet Dance Company, and Albuquerque Little Theatre. She has also been a member of a number of key professional organizations, including the National Association for Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce/Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and the Community Arts in Education Task Force. In addition, she served on both the Cultural Plan Committee and the Cultural Plan Advisory Committee in Albuquerque – where she helped develop the cultural plan for the City of Albuquerque and oversaw its implementation.
